Stephens Ranch Phase II North Collector Substation, O’Donnell, TX

December 2014 – Present. 

This 345/34.5kV – 235MVA wind farm collector substation is an ongoing project which will tie into the now existing SR I Substation.  Its tubular aluminum bus high & low, ten breaker 34.5kV Box Structure and an 8 MVAR Reactor unit.  The 345kV bus jumpers are welded double 1272 ACSR and the 34.5kV main jumpers are quadruple 1272 ACSR.  The project included more than 450 yd3 of concrete piers & pads and over 53,000’ of control wire installation and termination.

Stephens Ranch Phase II North 345kV T-Line, O’Donnell, TX

January 2015 – Present. 

This 6 mile 345kV, single circuit, double conductor line is an ongoing project which will tie the above mentioned SR II North Sub into the existing SR I Sub.  The line is a concrete mono-pole, braced horizontal insulator design with an average pole height of 120’ (48,000 lbs.) and an average span of 800’.  There are 5 existing power line and 7 road crossings.
