Prevailing Wind Park Coyote Collector Substation, Avon, SD

June 2019 to October 2019. 

Coyote Substation was a new 115kV 225 MVA Collector Substation with a single 115/34.5kV 225 MVA GSU Transformer, (4) 34.5kV Double Feeder Bays and (2) 7.5 Mvar Capacitor Banks. The construction schedule required installation and removal of a temporary 115kV MPT to enable turbine commissioning prior to the arrival of the permanent transformer. All material except foundation material was furnished by others and installed by Paradigm. Paradigm furnished and installed all foundations. 

For Prevailing Winds LLC/Thorstad Construction

 

Crocker Wind Farm, Conde, SD

April 2019 to October 2019. 

Crocker consisted of the construction of a new 345kV 250 MVA with (2) 345/34.5kV 125 MVA GSU Transformers, (4) 34.5kV Double Feeder Bays and (2) 17 Mvar Capacitor Banks. It also included 5.5 miles of Self-Supporting Steel Mono-pole 345kV Bundled 795 ACSR Transmission Line. All major equipment & material was furnished by others and installed by Paradigm. Paradigm furnished and installed all foundations, fence, grounding, conduit, cable trench, and power & control cable. 

For Geronimo Energy/Wanzek Construction

 

Coyote Ridge Wind Farm, White, SD

April 2019 to October 2019. 

The Coyote Ridge Project included the construction of a new 345kV 110 MVA Collector Substation with Sheltered Gas Insulated Switchgear, 2 Overhead 34.5kV Feeder Bays, and (3) 11 Mvar Capacitor Banks. It also included 14 miles of 34.5kV Overhead Under-Build Collection and 2 spans of 345kV Bundled 795 ACSR on direct buried Steel Mono-pole Structures to tie into Xcel Energy’s existing Brookings Substation. All major equipment & material was furnished by others and installed by Paradigm. Paradigm furnished & installed all foundations, fence, grounding, conduit, cable trench and power & control cable. 

For Avangrid Renewables/Wanzek Construction

 

Mesteno Wind, Rio Grande City, TX

April 2019 to October 2019. 

The Mesteno Project included the construction of a new 345kV 211 MVA Substation with (8) 34.5kV Feeder Bays & a 14 Mvar Capacitor Bank. It also included the construction of a new Single Bay 345kV Switchyard, 5.4 miles of direct embedded Steel Mono-pole 345kV Transmission Line, and modifications to the existing LV3 Collector Substation. 

For Duke Energy/Wanzek Construction

 

Karankawa Collector Substations 1 & 2, Mathis, TX

March 2019 to October 2019. 

Karankawa consisted of (2) 345kV Collector Substations built simultaneously in a common yard. KW1 had (2) 110 MVA 345/34.5kV Step-up Transformers, 10 Feeder Bays & (2) 6 Mvar Cap Banks. KW2 had (1) 110 MVA GSU Transformer with provisions to add a second, 8 Feeder Bays & (1) 6 Mvar Cap Bank with provisions to add a second. Both KW1 & 2 utilized Sheltered Gas Insulated Switchgear Units. Major equipment & material was furnished by others and installed by Paradigm. Paradigm furnished and installed all foundations, fence, grounding, conduit, cable trench and cable. 

For Avangrid Renewables/Wanzek Construction
