Beethoven Wind Substation, Tripp, SD.
October 2014 – February 2015.
Beethoven is a 115/34.5kV – 83MVA wind farm collector substation with cable bus high side and tubular aluminum bus low side. The below grade work was completed late 2014 so the above grade work could continue as equipment arrived in January & February.

Carroll Substation, Templeton, IA.
July 2014 – October 2014.
The Carroll Sub is a 69/34.5kV – 23MVA wind farm collector substation with cable bus on both the high side & low side. Paradigm worked with Consulting Engineers Group to provide a complete turnkey EPC package for Mortenson.

Stephens Ranch Phase I South Collector Substation, O’Donnell, TX.
June 2014 – October 2014.
SR I is a 345/34.5kV – 225MVA wind farm collector substation with tubular aluminum bus, an eight feeder 34.5kV Box Structure and two 4 MVAR Reactor units. The 345kV bus jumpers are welded double 1272 ACSR and the 34.5kV main jumpers are quadruple 1272 ACSR. The project included more than 600 yd3 of concrete piers & pads and over 55,000’ of control wire installation and termination.

Stephens Ranch Phase I South T-line, O’Donnell, TX.
August 2014 – October 2014.
This 13 mile 345kV, single circuit, double conductor line is a concrete mono-pole, braced horizontal insulator design with an average pole height of 115’ (38,000 lbs.) and an average span of 850’ which connects the South Sub to the existing Longdraw Substation. There are 6 existing power line and 4 road crossings.

Los Vientos III Collector Substation, Rio Grande City, TX.
May 2014 – October 2014.
Los Vientos III is a 345/138/34.5kV – 211MVA wind farm collector substation with tubular aluminum bus, an eight feeder 34.5kV Box Structure, four 16 MVAR Capacitor Banks, a 13.5 MVAR Reactor, and a 10 MVAR Distributed Static Compensator unit. The sub will initially operate at 138kV and switch to 345kV once a future AEP 345kV line is in service.

Los Vientos III 345kV Transmission Line, Rio Grande City, TX.
July 2014 – October 2014.
This is a 5 mile single circuit 345kV over-head line we built to connect the Los Vientos III Sub to an existing AEP 138kV line. The line is bundled 795 ACSR conductor on concrete mono-pole structures and will initially operate at 138kV until the future AEP 345kV line is complete.

West Substation Capacitor Bank Addition, Detroit Lakes, MN.
May 2014 – July 2014.
The West Sub is an existing 115/12.47kV – 42MVA municipal distribution substation. We constructed an addition to the existing sub to add a new 13 MVAR Capacitor Bank & (3) 0.25 mH Reactors with related 115kV Sf6 Breaker, GOAB, control panels, wiring, testing & commissioning.
